NAPLES, Fla. — Joseph Albert Robichaud, 76, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Cape Cod, died at Naples Community Hospital on December 30, 2010, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Martha's Vineyard on May 27, 1934, to Albert J. and Telma (Robsham) Robichaud. Joe was raised in West Yarmouth and graduated from Yarmouth High School. For many years, Joe worked in the family-owned West Dennis Market on Cape Cod.
Mr. Robichaud moved to Naples in the early 1950s when there were only two lanes of traffic on 41. Along with his wife, Margaret, he owned and managed the Pelican Apartments in Naples and was president of NAMA. Joe also worked in several area men's clothing stores. He was a charter member of the Naples United Church of Christ where he served on many committees and a member of the church choir. Joe loved to fish and enjoyed the Naples beaches.
Survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Margaret (Anderson) Robichaud; son, Charles Albert Robichaud; brother, Gerhard (Virginia) Robichaud, brother-in-law, William Anderson, and cousin Beverly Robsham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Naples United Church of Christ. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. He will be laid to rest in the churchyard memorial garden.
