My Dad (Rolf) had a jovial personality, a huge laugh and he enjoyed everything every day. He could talk up a storm with everyone and had a knack of making people feel that they had known him for years. (My brother, Richard, had that trait too). He was a fairly good businessman and could probably sell anything that he believed in. For some reason you found it an honor to buy stuff from him because he personalized it so!
He was a great bacteriologist, studied at Mass Aggie and became the youngest state farm inspector on record at the time. I grew up with massive gardens in the back yard and chickens, and although we didn't have hogs at our house, he had a buncch of them that he kept someplace else, and he aged his own hams in our attic (Yum!). Mother and Dad canned all their veggies, and she made jams and jellies and pickles and all that (Norwegian) stuff... and, Oh Yes!!, it was stored on the nooks and shelves along the sides of the stairs leading down into the cellar.
Dad was very careful of what we ate. Food was NEVER kept even in the fridge for longer than 3 days. NEVER. I can remember mother tossing out steaks and hamburg and other stuff when it looked like it was just getting ready to eat. But he had an obsession with food going bad and liked to eat everything fresh, and we did!
And so, I would pass along that compassion, ability to laugh out loud at all good things, deep spirituality and love of life would define the Robshams that I knew and grew up with (my Dad, Telma (his sister), brothers OC & Siguard, Margarite (his sister).

I remember Oyvin Charles Robsham (no children) and Thelma (Robsham) Robichaud (+ son Gerard), and have met 2 children of Marguerite Robsham Delaney (Robert Delaney & Mary Muldoon). I do not remember Rolf Robsham, but met his son Richard (Beverly's brother) and some of their children who live nearby here. I think I can fill in some more names after speaking to my sisters.

The correct name for "Thelma" is Telma Robsham Robichaud. She was married twice...the first was briefly to a man named "Gray" (as far as I recall family "legend")...this union produced Gerhardt (known as "Gerry" or "Garrett"). He is still living on Cape Cod, probably now in his very late 70's/early 80's and bears the name "Robichaud," as do all of his children.

Richard E. Robsham, 85, of South Dennis and formerly of Yarmouth died unexpectedly Saturday June 26, 2010 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He was the husband of Helen L. (Hallett) Robsham. They had been married for 63 years. Born in Boston, Mr. Robsham was the son of the late Rolf V. and Helen (Ellsworth) Robsham. He contracted Polio at the age of 3 but it never slowed him down. During World War II, Mr. Robsham worked at Camp Edwards rebuilding Army vehicles to support the war effortt. During the bootlegging of liquor, Mr. Robsham became involved with the liquor industry, and after the death of his father, he received one of the first liquor licenses in the Town of Yarmouth. He owned, operated and was President of Bass River Liquors for 52 years and developed the Skippers Choice product line. Mr. Robsham lived in Yarmouth for many years and served on the Planning Board and the Board of Appeals. He served as a Deputy Sheriff for Barnstable County and he was a member of the Florida Sheriff's Association. After his retirement in 1986, Mr. Robsham moved to Florida and then to South Dennis in 1991. Mr. Robsham enjoyed fishing in the Florida Keys, lobstering in Nantucket Sound, and carving ducks of driftwood ffrom local Cape beaches. He was also an avid storyteller, and an active ham radio operator W1YBY. In addition to his wife, Mr. Robsham is survived by two sons, Peter H. Robsham and his partner, Jeanne Schmitt of Yarmouthport, and David E. Robsham and his wife, Chevy of Norfolk; two daughters, Susan L. Frommeyer and her husband, Don of Yarmouthport, and Anne L. Cabral and her husband, Mike of North Dartmouth; a sister, Beverly Robsham of York, Maine; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. WEST YARMOUTH — Gerhard M. "Gerry" "Robie" Robichaud, 82, of West Yarmouth, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of Virginia K. (Kettner) Robichaud for 60 years.
Mr. Robichaud was born in Provincetown and lived his entire life on Cape Cod. He attended Yarmouth schools before earning his engineering degree from Wentworth Institute.
During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, as a member of the Far East Air Force. He was honorably discharged after attaining the rank of Airman Second Class in 1952.
After his military service, he returned to the Cape, worked with Rusty's Plumbing and Heating in Hyannis before founding Robies Refrigeration in 1959. Gerry enjoyed spending time at the "shop" right up to this year while leaving the day-to-day operations to his sons.
Gerry loved spending summers cruising around Lewis Bay and Nantucket Sound on his boat "Mr. Cool," and spending time during the winter skiing with his family and friends at his ski house in Jackson, N.H.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Robichaud is survived by three sons, John and his wife, Joanne of Barnstable, Barry of Yarmouth, and James and his wife, Colleen of West Barnstable; two daughters, Patricia Evans of West Yarmouth, and Judith Olsen oof Lummi Island, Wash.; 12 grandchildren, Theresa (Robichaud) Tamash, Michael, Stephen, Thomas, Betsy, Emily, Jessie, and Nelly Robichaud, Justin and Derek Evans, and Nathan and Britta Olsen; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Telma (Robsham) Robichaud; a brother, Joseph A. Robichaud; and a great-granddaughter.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will be private.

NAPLES, Fla. — Joseph Albert Robichaud, 76, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Cape Cod, died at Naples Community Hospital on December 30, 2010, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Martha's Vineyard on May 27, 1934, to Albert J. and Telma (Robsham) Robichaud. Joe was raised in West Yarmouth and graduated from Yarmouth High School. For many years, Joe worked in the family-owned West Dennis Market on Cape Cod.
Mr. Robichaud moved to Naples in the early 1950s when there were only two lanes of traffic on 41. Along with his wife, Margaret, he owned and managed the Pelican Apartments in Naples and was president of NAMA. Joe also worked in several area men's clothing stores. He was a charter member of the Naples United Church of Christ where he served on many committees and a member of the church choir. Joe loved to fish and enjoyed the Naples beaches.
Survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Margaret (Anderson) Robichaud; son, Charles Albert Robichaud; brother, Gerhard (Virginia) Robichaud, brother-in-law, William Anderson, and cousin Beverly Robsham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Naples United Church of Christ. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. He will be laid to rest in the churchyard memorial garden. Born on April 26, 1954 in Winsted, CT; he was the son of the late George Raymond Langevin and Helena (Delaney) Langevin. Brian was a skilled carpenter in all aspects of carpentry, specializing in finish/trim work. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his four brothers, Paul Langevin and wife, Kay of Tampa, Fl., Robert Langevin and wife, Nancy of Torrirington, Phillip Langevin and wife, Emily of Winsted, and Jean Langevin of New Hartford, nieces Cortney, Morgann, Crystal, and nephew, Levi. He leaves many relatives and close friends along with gracious friend Rosemarie Caine and lifelong friend Myles "Hiver" Caine, Jr. who compassionately cared for him throughout this last year.
